Yes, you can see that far, but only from a mountain, as the earth's curvature prevents you from seeing much more than 3 miles if you are on flat ground. For less money, you can get some Bushnell 10x50s that are better. If you really want to see far, search Amazon.com for Celestron's Skymaster series. They are just very cheaply made 10×50 binoculars.
